Status as of September 2026: no Black Friday deals are live yet. We will post them on this page as they appear in November — real prices from Amazon's own data, not a guess. Until then, this page does the more useful job: it tells you which travel-gear categories have a documented record of discounting on Black Friday, which ones rarely do, and for each one whether you should buy today or wait. Every historical price below is quoted from a dated source linked at the bottom. We don't predict what a product will cost in November, and we'd be suspicious of any page that does.
The short version
- Wait for November if you can: noise-canceling headphones and earbuds, Apple AirTags, Kindles, Anker power banks, mainstream luggage (Samsonite, Travelpro). All five had documented November 2025 sales, several at reported record lows.
- Watch, but don't count on it: Osprey (real sales in 2024 and 2025, but a previous one sold out fast) and TUMI (up to 30% on select items in 2025 — your bag may not be one of them).
- Buy now, there's nothing to wait for: Patagonia, which does not run a Black Friday sale at all, and the small stuff — packing cubes, adapters, sleep masks, luggage scales — where a discount saves cents and stock matters more than timing.
- Buy now regardless if the trip is before Thanksgiving. A deal on a bag that arrives after the flight is not a deal.
What historically discounts for Black Friday
These are the categories where we found a dated, published record of Black Friday pricing on the exact products we recommend, or their direct siblings. The numbers are 2025's, quoted as reported. They are a track record, not a promise about 2026.
Noise-canceling headphones and earbuds — the most reliable category
The Sony WH-1000XM5 dropped to $248 against a $399.99 list price on Black Friday 2025, which Engadget reported as a record low. The Bose QuietComfort Headphones went to $199 from $360 in the same week (Popular Science), and Walmart sold the AirPods Pro 2 at $139 against a $249 list, the lowest Engadget had seen. Audio is the category where waiting has most clearly paid off, and it's where we'd tell a gift buyer to hold fire until the third week of November. Apple AirTags
The four-pack hit $62.99 against $99 on November 28, 2025 — a new all-time low at the time, per MacRumors, which noted it beat a deal from earlier the same month. Kindle Paperwhite
Amazon discounts its own devices in its own sale. On Black Friday 2025 the Paperwhite was listed at $124.99, described as 22% off (Consequence). If the person you're buying for is a reader, this is the single easiest "wait for November" call on the page. Our Kindle Paperwhite review covers which version to buy.
Anker power banks and chargers
Anker ran "up to 50 percent off" across power banks and chargers through Black Friday 2025 (Engadget, November 29), with the MagGo 10,000mAh Qi2 bank at $55 against $89.99. The honest caveat: Anker prices move all year — in our own live price data on the day this page was written, three of the four Anker banks we track already showed a discount against list — so the Black Friday saving over an ordinary week is usually smaller than the headline. Mainstream luggage — Samsonite and Travelpro
Luggage is a Black Friday staple. Popular Science reported an early Black Friday Amazon clearance on Samsonite in mid-November 2025 with the Omni 2 two-piece set at $204.99, described as a 50 percent discount. AFAR's 2025 roundup listed Travelpro at 50% sitewide. Both brands anchor our best carry-on luggage roundup, and both are worth waiting for if the suitcase isn't needed before Thanksgiving.
Osprey — real sales, but they sell out
Osprey packs "don't go on sale often," as Popular Science put it in its December 2024 coverage of a 25%-off event, adding that the previous year's sale "sold out very quickly." AFAR listed Osprey at up to 40% off through December 1 in 2025. So the pattern is: a Black Friday discount is likely, the specific Farpoint or Fairview colorway you want may go quickly, and buying on day one of the sale beats waiting for Cyber Monday. TUMI — selective
AFAR's 2025 coverage put it plainly: "Tumi rarely offers meaningful discounts," and the Black Friday offer was up to 30% on select items. That means a specific bag from our luxury travel bags or luxury travel backpack pages may or may not be included. If the one you want appears in the sale, buy it; don't plan a gift around it appearing.
What rarely (or never) discounts
Patagonia
Patagonia does not participate in Black Friday and has not for years — the brand's stance, as Men's Health reported in November 2024, is to tell customers not to buy anything or to go outside. What it offers instead is a Web Specials section of past-season colors and its Worn Wear resale program. If the gift is a Patagonia Black Hole duffel rather than one of the picks in our travel duffel roundup, there is no November price to wait for. Buy it when you're ready.
Small, cheap, single-purpose gear
Packing cubes, universal adapters, sleep masks, luggage scales, silicone bottles, TSA locks. We could not find a consistent, documented Black Friday pattern for these, and we won't invent one. Their prices already sit in the ten-to-thirty-dollar range, Amazon's own day-to-day coupons move them by a dollar or two, and in late November the practical risk is delivery, not price. If it's a stocking stuffer or a Secret Santa gift, buy it now.
Boutique and specialist brands
Trtl, Cabeau, Manta, Rumpl, Bellroy, Peak Design, LEUCHTTURM1917, Fisher Space Pen. Some of these run their own promotions and some don't; we found no published record specific enough to quote for the products we recommend, so we're not making a claim either way. Treat any discount as a bonus rather than a plan.
Buy now or wait: the call by product class
The rule underneath all of this: the trip date decides, then the category. Anything needed before Thanksgiving gets bought now. For everything else:
- Over-ear headphones, earbuds — wait. Documented record lows in the last week of November 2025.
- AirTags and trackers — wait for the four-pack.
- Kindle — wait. Amazon discounts its own hardware in its own sale.
- Anker power banks— wait if it's convenient, but a good price in October is also a good price. Frequent discounts make the November edge small.
- Samsonite, Travelpro, mainstream luggage — wait. Sitewide and clearance-level sales are the recent pattern.
- Osprey — wait, then buy on the first day the sale opens. Popular Science reported a previous Osprey sale selling out very quickly.
- TUMI and luxury bags— buy when you see the specific bag discounted, whether that's November or not. Don't plan around it.
- Patagonia — buy now. There is no Black Friday sale.
- Cubes, adapters, masks, scales, pens, notebooks — buy now. Waiting saves little and risks delivery.
How to tell a real deal from a fake one in November
Three checks. First, compare the sale price with the product's typical price, not the "list price" on the tag — a strike-through figure nobody has paid in a year makes any discount look bigger. Second, read the model name carefully: a "WH-1000XM4" at a great price is a four-year-old model, not a bargain on the XM5. Third, check the seller. On Amazon, "Ships from and sold by Amazon" or the brand's own store is the safe line for anything with a warranty.

Where Amazon publishes a list price and a percentage off, we show those too, straight from the data — and when our price is more than 48 hours old, the number disappears rather than going stale. That rule applies double in November.
