Jet & Jot is written by Stephen V., an enthusiast who's genuinely into travel gear and the small problem of buying a good gift for someone who travels. Not a credentialed expert, not a test-lab reviewer — someone who reads the spec sheets, compiles the numbers, does the gift-buyer math, and says plainly what to get and what to skip.

That framing is deliberate. Plenty of gift guides lean on a borrowed "tested by experts" credential. We don't have a test lab and we're not going to pretend we do. What we can do — and do carefully — is compile published specifications, check the things a gift buyer actually cares about (does it fit a carry-on? is it TSA-friendly? will the adapter work where they're going?), pull live prices so nothing is stale, and be honest about who each pick suits.

What we believe about gifts

• The person comes first. A frequent flyer and a car-camping road tripper want completely different things. So we start from the kind of traveleryou're buying for.
• A gift you'd skip is worth saying so.Every pick carries an honest "skip it if" note. A list that likes everything helps no one.
• Prices should be real.Numbers on this site come from Amazon's live data and are date-stamped. When they go stale, they disappear rather than mislead you.
